According to Bloomberg News, Snapchat has recently surpassed Twitter in terms of user engagement. There are reportedly one hundred and fifty million people using Snapchat's messaging service on a daily basis. That is over 10 million more than Twitter currently has. Snapchat was only introduced to the public about four years ago, and it initially featured a photo-erasing function. Only in the past five years, its total user base has grown by approximately 35 percent. According to Nick, social media is merely one example of how technology is altering the way in which we live. Mary Meeker, a well-known venture capital analyst, gave a presentation on her annual trends report at the code conference this week. Her presentation took place during a time when some of the most innovative minds in Silicon Valley are discussing what the future may hold. She predicted that there would be a decrease in people using the internet, but that there would be an increase in the number of images and emojis over the past few days. Other prominent figures in the sector discussed the potential future directions that the world could take thanks to technological advancements.
